If it isn't stamped "ARP" it is not an AR Performance barrel. The ARP Scout is a medium weight profile with a slightly different taper to stiffen the barrel. Chambered in 223 Wylde so it shoots both 223 and 556 ammo with great accuracy. Melonite treated barrels have shown to last 30% longer than chrome lined barrels and twice as long as stainless while being more corrosion resistant. ARP barrels performed better than most production and so called "match" barrels on the market and do it at a fraction of the cost.

3R VS 5R- Solid copper bullets like the barnes and Cavity Back bullets may work better in the 3R barrels due to there is 40% less engraving force. You may be able to get more velocity out of the 3R barrels. Using lead core bullets there is no difference in accuracy between the 5R and 3R.
